TENNIS FOR BEGINNERS: FIND YOUR OPTIMAL CONTACT POINT

March 27, 2018

One common challenge for beginning players is getting too close to the ball at contact.

To help find optimal distance between you and the ball, trap the ball between your hand and racquet strings with the end of the racquet touching your stomach.  The racquet head should be level.

This trapping activity ensures a good shoulder turn, creating space and also engages your non dominant hand – all keys to a finding your optimal contact point.
